Video I made for my friend's Kickstarter campaign and business website. Retro Beaux (pronounced "retro bows") offers one-of-a-kind women's fashion made from vintage men's accessories- bowties, neckties, cuff-links, buttons, pocket watches, and even historic medals. Styles range from Girlie to Glam, Hippie to Hipster, Tomboy to Trendy, Daywear to Diva. All items are handmade and designed by me, Gayle :) I enjoy rescuing discarded objects from men's wardrobes and honoring them through creative reuse. This nostalgic craft started when my sisters and I became the proud owners of our Dad's old, out-of-style, and sometimes ugly ties. Being the ultimate Daddy's Girl that I am, the ties were re-purposed into high fashion accessories during dress-up play. Today, I value that same sense of playful fashion with my Retro Beaux collection. Each handmade item reflects a perfect balance of past, present and prettiness. Enjoy!
