Ex-New York Governor Andrew Cuomo is reportedly set to be finger-printed and get his mugshot taken next month. Albany County Sheriff Craig Apple said on Friday his office has an overwhelming amount of evidence for the sexual misconduct allegations against the Democrat. The official added, he’s “very confident that the district attorney will prosecute this.”

“Our investigators have sifted through hundreds of documents, if not thousands, executed several search warrants and interviewed numerous witnesses, including our victim,” explained the sheriff. “As a result of all that information, a packet was sent down to Albany City Court for review. As a result of that review, a criminal summons was issued.”

The complaint alleges Cuomo forcibly touched a former aide under her blouse in December of 2020 at his executive mansion in Albany.

“Early August, we received a complaint and report was placed on file from a young woman who worked for the governor’s office,” Sheriff Apple continued. “As I said that following Saturday, our investigators were going to conduct a very comprehensive and methodical investigation. We were not going to be rushed and we would not be delayed. So over the course of the nearly four months that follow that, we have done just that in a very comprehensive and methodical investigation.”

When my office received the referral to investigate allegations that former Governor Andrew Cuomo sexually harassed multiple women, we proceeded without fear or favor.

The criminal charges against Mr. Cuomo for forcible touching further validate the findings in our report.

The sheriff warned his office will not let threats or intimidation derail his office’s investigation. If convicted, Cuomo could face a year behind bars. However, the sheriff said it’s really going to come down to a jury, judge and the District Attorney’s Office.
